Meet the Team

Michael initially qualified as an optometrist before studying medicine. His higher surgical training was at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and he has been working as a Consultant Ophthalmologist for East Sussex Healthcare Trust since March 2000.

He has always had a keen interest in teaching and is a trainer and examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London.

Manuel was an Honorary Lecturer at the University of East Anglia prior to being appointed by East Sussex Healthcare Trust as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2009.

He has a Certificate in Education and has been actively involved in the training of doctors, nurses, orthoptic and optometry personnel. Over many years he has developed an expertise in ophthalmic illustration and animation.
