CPD Overview

“CPD is the commitment of professionals towards the enhancement of personal skills and proficiency throughout their careers”

Engaging in CPD demonstrates a clear commitment to self-development and professionalism. It ensures that both academic and practical qualifications do not become out-dated or obsolete. Healthcare individuals can identify knowledge gaps and resolve these to become a more competent professional, thereby improving patient care.

Accredited CPD training means the learning activity has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks. This website has been endorsed by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London and the learning value has been scrutinized to ensure integrity and quality.

The CPD quiz involves answering 20 single best answer multiple-choice questions. The quiz pass mark is 65% ie a minimum of 13 correct answers are required. The 20 questions are randomly selected from a larger pool of 40 multiple-choice questions and therefore anyone repeating the quiz is likely to have several new questions presented each time.

There is no limit to the number of times the CPD quiz can be attempted. Obtaining 65% or higher allows the user to download an accredited CPD Certificate (view example) which demonstrates successful participation. It is recommended that the user writes additional reflective learning notes to highlight some keys areas of their development.
